University of California is accused of discriminating against Christian schools by rejecting courses taught from a Biblical worldview. This is a constitutional issue that is being tested in the Federal Court system. The complaint (pdf file) states "FOR ABRIDGMENT OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM FROM VIEWPOINT DISCRIMINATION, FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND ASSOCIATION, FREEDOM FROM ARBITRARY DISCRETION, EQUAL PROTECTION
OF THE LAWS, AND FREEDOM FROM HOSTILITY TOWARD RELIGION"
University of California does have the right to set its admissions standards, however, it is questionable whether that extends to excluding a certain "religious" point of view. The decision of this case could be far reaching. If the policy is allowed to stand, it sends a message to other schools that it is okay to bar any teaching from a Biblical worldview from their curriculum. In my opinion, this would be clearly religious censorship. Hopefully the jury will see that and will be able to see the violation of constitutional principles.

The Root of the Problem
The root of the problem of much bad science today is the belief in Naturalism. Scientists may not admit to subscribing to a faith in Naturalism if they understand the theological arguments against it. However, many naturalists claim that there is no higher authority than science. The most fundamental question is whether our ultimate reality is the Cosmos or God as the Creator of all things. Is there a purpose to our lives, or are we a cosmic accident that has evolved from primordial slime?
Naturalism tell us that all that exists is nature. Life on Earth arose from a chance collision of atoms and has evolved into human life as we know it today. In its broadest sense, Naturalism includes its own form of religion. There are naturalists that believe all spiritual things come from nature, such as New Age and neo-pagan religions. Many other worldviews have sprung from the foundation of Naturalism such as, moral relativism (there is no transcendent source of moral truth), multiculturalism (all cultures are morally equivalent), pragmatism (denies moral standards), utopianism (believes all humans are fundamentally good), and a belief that there is nothing after this life. Ultimately, postmodernism (rejection of any universal truth) is the popular worldview today.
There is mounting evidence in scientific research, both from Christian and non-Christian scientists that there is a Creator, and that nature is not eternal and able to have created the human race. I hope that as I post on this blog, that I will be able to show the mounting scientific evidence for a Creator that far outweighs the scientific evidence for naturalism and the theory of evolution.

"Expelled" the Movie Opens
A new documentary film opened this weekend in over 1000 theaters nationwide and grossed over 3 million dollars called "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed". This film exposes the dichotomy between science and religion that scientists are attempting to create. There is a wall erected between evolutionists and creationists. However, any attempt to have a discussion about the scientific findings that have led to "Intelligent Design" is considered unnecessary by scientists because they consider the debate closed with Intelligent Design irrefutably proven to be a defense of creationism and not scientific at all. However, in this film we have an atheist make a surprising admission. Richard Dawkins, author of "The God Delusion"
admits the plausibility of an intelligent designer but appears to credit the intellence to aliens from another galaxy as more plausible than it being God.
Not surprisingly the critics are using very strong language to attempt to discredit the proposition of this film. While it does present a strong point of view, the criticisms of it fail to be convicing because of the name calling and emotional ranting. The New York Times says its, "...a conspiracy-theory rant masquerading as investigative inquiry." TV Guide says, "It's hard to pinpoint the most insulting aspects of this obvious propaganda piece..." It is clear that this film struck a nerve. This is a battle of worldviews, as one scientist in the film mentioned. Which comes first, a scientist's worldview, or their analysis of the observations made? That is an important question. It appears the worldview is coming first, and the science is being used to justify the analysis. Why can't we just take the scientific observations wherever they lead us? It is more likely we will find the truthful answers that way. It is also what makes science, science. Objective observation.
See this film, and start asking your own questions about whether what Ben Stein says is true or not. There are sure to be those who will tell the other side of the story. Which side is discouraging closer investigation and observation of the facts?

Where Did We Come From?
One of the big questions in life is where humans came from. It is in fact a bigger question than most realize, because the answer we accept will form the foundation of what we believe about life. There is a very real battle of ideas about this in our society. How your children turn out, how their character develops, is greatly influenced by what they learn in school. If they are denied an education that provides a complete picture of reality, they will grow up believing things that are not true. I hope that in this blog, I will be able to address this problem in a way that help other parents like me be aware of what kinds of things are being indoctrinated into our children's minds in school while they are still young and impressionable. We want to attempt to give them a more complete view of the things they study so that they can understand reality, not indoctrinate them to a point of view that may or may not be true. We need to more thoroughly investigate cosmology, the origins of life, the scientific conclusions, and so called "facts" taught in our schools so that we can make sure our children are properly educated.
Those in the education establishment are convinced that Darwin's theories are scientific fact. Yet there is strong and ever mounting evidence that this position is based on the religious belief of Naturalism which is being positioned as objective science while the tenants of this belief cannot be verified with objective observation. We can see this while looking at what happened in a Kansas school in 2006.
